Previously undiscovered, The Winter House is a truly unique space, ideally located on Soho's Shaftesbury Avenue.
B&H's Winter House, the Grade II listed former chapel retains many of its 19th century architectural features, including a beautiful galleried central space with arched windows and an umbrella dome ceiling.
Split over three floors, the Winter House features a 200 cover restaurant in the stunning Grand Hall, beautiful balconies, ideal for people watching and private parties, delightful hidden rooms overlooking Shaftesbury Avenue, and a large late-night drinking and dancing den in the Crypt.
The Grand Hall is both beautiful and imposing, a striking central space, surrounded by intimate alcoves and crowned with a magnificent umbrella dome ceiling. The horse shoe bar pulls focus with it’s simple but stylish design, perfect for after-work cocktails. Playing host to the main restaurant area, the dining area playfully mixes reflective surfaces with twisting branches and dancing candle light, a stunning setting for an intimate dinner. The domed ceiling above is a subtly-changing skyscape, using projections to create movement and pull focus, and serving to bring the outside in with other-worldly cloud formations.
Three picturesque balconies overlook The Grand Hall, perfect for a spot of people watching, and allowing smaller groups to partake in the grandiose atmosphere, while enjoying the intimacy of a more enclosed space. A perfect example of 19th Century ecclesiastical architecture, the stunning lancet windows and central choir set a distinguished tone, enhanced with rich fabrics, charming table dressings and warm candle light.
Hidden below, the atmospheric Crypt offers a decadent late-night hangout, perfect for drinking and dancing from dusk to dawn. With décor that echoes the rich stylings and grandeur of the building above, but in slightly dustier tones, this hidden den is a warren of nooks and crannies, secret booths and intimate hidey-holes. The DJ commands the dance floor from a raised pulpit, while the magnificent windows illuminate the room in moody stained-glass hues. The bar, a central feature to the room serves signature B&H cocktails, whilst a menu of hot and cold canapés is available to order, sustaining guests into the small hours.
